After a career in Political Science at the University of Western Australia (UWA), Campbell Sharman moved to Vancouver where he is now an Adjunct Professor in the Political Science Department of the University of British Columbia. He maintains his links with UWA through his work on the Australian Politics and Elections Database and website which is widely used by the general public in addition to its contribution to research on Australian and comparative politics. Campbell Sharman has a long standing interest in federalism and the effect of institutional rules, both electoral and constitutional, on the political and governmental process in parliamentary systems. He is involved in a continuing project analyzing long term trends in politics and government in Australia based on the Australian Politics and Elections Database which he maintains for the University.
