The paleo-depth maps illustrate the evolution of the ocean basins (widening and deepening) and oceanic gateway development surrounding Antarctica. The digital grids provide improved boundary conditions for palaeoceanographic circulation models as well as for backtracking sediments from ODP drilling. The entire Antarctic PaleoBath: Antarctic paleo depth grids dataset, access to the related Antarctic paleo age grids dataset, images, animations and other supporting documentation are available from the EarthByte website. Images are available in .JPEG format. .GIF and Quicktime animations may be viewed using a web browser. Grid datasets can be read using GPlates, an open source software application available for download from the EarthByte website.
