Brief description
The dataset was gathered to assess the distribution and threats to the Bornean orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) in Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo.The assessment was completed through a survey of nearly 7000 locals. The orangutan survey was developed and administered by The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and the Indonesian Association of Primatologists (PERHAPPI), and implemented by 18 local non-government organisations (NGOs). The questionnaire contained 33 questions.
The dataset presents the orangutan densities versus relative encounter rate classes based on the interviews.
