Full description

The Gold Commissioner, Ophir reported initially to the Chief Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Gold Districts and later to the Gold Commissioner in Charge of Crown Lands for the Western Gold District. Charles Henry Green held the position of Commissioner, Western District from 1 January 1852.(1) He may also have held the position of Gold Commissioner, Ophir as his private accounts from 1849 were included in the ledger kept by the Gold Commissioner, Ophir.(2) Endnotes
