In 1973 the administrative structure of the Education Department was revised and became based on function based Directorates.(1) The former Properties Division became the Properties Directorate, which was responsible for the management and co-ordination of departmental assets and building programs, including new schools, libraries, renovation programs, the teacher housing authority - particularly in country areas, school supplies, and furniture services.(2)Endnotes
