A Provisional School at Cambra in the County of Gloucester was established in January 1954. A provisional school was one with a small school population in which the parents supplied the school building and the Department of Education the teacher, teaching materials and books. The School was converted to a public school in November 1957. Cambra Public School closed on 20 March 1964.
