Full description
Windsor Court of Petty Sessions was created on 30 September 1832 under the provisions of s.17 of the Offenders Punishment and Justices Summary Jurisdiction Act of 1832 (3 Wil.IV No.3). (1)
In 1832 the Windsor Police Magistrate, Samuel North, also sat on the Windsor Bench at North Richmond and at Lower Portland Head (Wiseman's Ferry) on the Hawkesbury River. (2)
The records of the Wiseman's Ferry Court of Petty Sessions were transferred to the Windsor Court of Petty Sessions on 30 August 1974, when the Wiseman's Ferry Court of Petty Sessions was abolished. (3)
The Windsor Court of Petty Sessions was abolished on 31 December 1984 when the Local Courts Act 1982 abolished all Courts of Petty Sessions and replaced these with Local Courts. (4)
