Full description

This source code implements an agent-based simulation model for the transmission of P. falciparum malaria in a small village of 400 individuals.

Symptomatic malaria is diagnosed using rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs), and the model can incorporate HRP2-negative parasites which are not detectable by HRP2-detecting RDTs. All RDT-positive symptomatic individuals receive artesunate-mefloquine treatment, and it is assumed that all parasites are sensitive to this combination therapy. Transmission is assumed constant throughout the year. The program is coded in Fortran.
