This dataset consists of de-identified data from the survey of Breastfeeding support practices in Sri Lankan hospitals by mode of birth, conducted in 2021.
The survey retrospectively assessed women’s outcomes and experiences of childbirth, infant feeding and breastfeeding support care in selected government hospitals in Sri Lanka close to their most recent birth. The researchers invited women who gave birth in selected Sri Lankan hospitals during a three-month period (September 2021-December 2021) to participate in this survey.
A total of 360 women who gave birth to a live baby were approached, and the usable response rate for women was 83.8% (302 out of 360), following exclusions for unconsented women.
