A Prospective Cohort Study Evaluating the use of Ritual, Spiritual Orientation and Coping

Research Project

Researchers: Chrystabel Butler (Principal investigator, Writing original draft, Principal or Chief Investigator) ,  Natasha Michael (Supervision, Co-investigator or Collaborator)

Full description Our primary objective is to better understand the range, type and frequency of rituals commonly practiced by patients with an advanced illness and an estimated prognosis of ≤12 months. Secondarily, this study seeks to better understand what spiritual practices patients would like to have in their lives but currently do not. Thirdly, we seek correlations between patient/carer coping, quality of life and subjective spirituality and practices of rituals that are personally or culturally meaningful activities.
