Full description

This repository contains the data and code underlying Figure 2 of the manuscript.

cvh_data.csv records annual and cumulative counts of empirical studies testing the Climatic Variability Hypothesis in ectotherms, derived from a systematic literature search conducted in May 2026 (see Supplementary Material for full search and eligibility criteria). Counts are broken down by physiological axis (thermal, metabolic, hydric) and taxon group.

cvh_figure.R reproduces Figure 2 using these data. Required R packages: ggplot2, dplyr, tidyr, patchwork, scales, forcats.
