This dataset describes a methodological adjustment for the Iberia heat tolerance test developed by Rhoad (1944) from rectal temperature to rumen temperature, under both confined and un-confined conditions. The dataset describes an individual animal identification number (cow), date (calendar date), time (hour:min format) and rumen temperature for each data timepoint. The data has been used to establish the methodological approach to use non-invasive animal body temperature monitoring, without the need for animal handling, to establish heat tolerance classifications in a Bos indicus genotype.
