Full description

A Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is a 3D representation of terrain elevation. It is derived from the radar altimeter and GNSS on the Survey aircraft. The GNSS height measurements are geoidal values derived using the Australian Vertical Working Surface (AVWS). This survey was acquired under the project No. 5028 for the Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA). The grid has a cell size of 0.000204 degrees (approximately 20m). The data are given in units of meters.

Statement: This 5028 Block 1 (Southwest) Grid of the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) derived from the radar altimeter and GNSS is elevation data for the Narryer acquired under the project No. 5028 for the geological survey of Western Australia. The grid has a cell size of degrees (approximately 20m). This grid contains the ground elevation values relative to the geoid for the Narryer. It represents the vertical distance from a location on the Earth's surface to the geoid. The data are given in units of meters. The processed data are checked by GA geophysicists using standard methods for assessing quality to ensure that the final data are fit-for-purpose.

Notes

Purpose
Magnetic and radiometric data are types of geophysical information primarily used to map geology. The data will have applications in mineral, energy, and groundwater exploration as well as environmental studies.
