The new datasheet ZooplanktonSIPEX_I_II.csv provides the dataset ID, event ID (cruise and station), sampling protocol, verbatim latitude and verbatim longitude that were converted to decimal latitude and longitude (also provided), continent, country, occurrence, basis of record, organism quantity (Abundance in individual per m3), sex and life stage. Purpose
Data were used to describe the distribution and abundance of key zooplankton during the winter-spring transition in the pack ice of the Indian Ocean sector. The paper by Wallis et al. (2015) describes the differences and similarities between the data in the 2 years and makes inferences about the role of sea ice thickness in driving zooplankton during that season.
