Included are the XRD raw data files and mineral interpretations conducted by Damian Gore. One gram of iron in contact with 250 mL of 1.5 mM copper or zinc solution was left covered from light and not stirred for 42, 84 or 321 days. Samples were filtered, air dried and ground before XRD analysis using a Bruker AXS D8 Advance. Notable settings consisted of a 40 kV, 30 mA X-Ray source (Lambda = 1.5418 Angstroms), with a 0.6 degrees slit, a scan range of 10 to 90 degrees 2 Th. with a step size of 0.030 and a time step of 0.5 s. In an attempt to distinguish between different spinals the scan range was increased to 6 to 140 for the collection of selected diffractograms. Interpretation was completed using PANalytical Highscore+. The download file contains interpreted and raw data - the .raw files are a type of file that is an output file from the XRD machine which is used by the interpretation software. These files can only be opened by specific software - XRD analysis was completed using a Bruker AXS D8 Advance machine, and the interpretation was completed using PANalytical Highscore+ software. However, the download file also contains an extract of the XRD signals (.raw data), which is in Excel format.&rft.creator=STATHAM, TOM &rft.creator=GORE, DAMIAN &rft.date=2014&rft.coverage=northlimit=-66.0; southlimit=-66.0; westlimit=110.0; eastLimit=110.0; projection=WGS84&rft.coverage=northlimit=-66.0; southlimit=-66.0; westlimit=110.0; eastLimit=110.0; projection=WGS84&rft_rights=This data set conforms to the CCBY Attribution License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Brief description

(See the metadata file in the downloadable dataset for more information, including formulas which cannot be reproduced here) The data set consists of laboratory based X-Ray diffraction (XRD) measurements for samples of zero-valent iron which have been exposed to copper or zinc solutions. However, the download file also contains an extract of the XRD signals (.raw data), which is in Excel format.
