Brief description

The World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) was a part of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) which used resources from nearly 30 countries to make unprecedented in-situ and satellite observations of the global ocean between 1990 and 1998 and to observe poorly-understood but important physical processes. This dataset provides a uniformly-processed, high-quality set of historical and WOCE current meter records. These data were assembled by the Current Meter Data Assembly Center (CMDAC) operated by the Buoy Group at Oregon State University. All current records in the database have been examined and have been brought up to a single, uniform standard.

Data time period: 11 1985 to 31 08 1999
