Alir Pukai Stringband is a Tolai Gunantuna stringband of Raluana, Kokopo, ENB Province recorded 2003.The musical group known for their traditional-style string band music originating from the Rabaul region in Papua New Guinea. The stringband contributes to the musical heritage of the area, combining indigenous musical elements and acoustic string instruments to create their distinctive sound. They have collaborated with artists like Bob Brozman and are recognized for tracks that showcase their cultural roots and traditional styles. The band represents the rich string band tradition prominent in Melanesia, particularly Papua New Guinea, where such groups play an important cultural and social role through their music performances. Their music has been part of various recordings and collaborations that highlight Rabaul and Tolai cultural music.
