This dataset is one of a number of datasets containing geomorphological data relating to the Windmill Islands, Wilkes Land, Antarctica and it is one of two containing data relating to abandoned penguin colonies in the Windmill Islands. It comprises a digital map showing the locations of some abandoned penguin colonies (represented by points) and a linked digital database containing additional information. The importance of these sites derives from the fact that a chronology of penguin occupation can be established by radiocarbon dating and this in turn provides a minimum age for deglaciation of the Windmill Islands.
