Full description Camera trap data package from the Wildlife Observatory of Australia's Wildlife Camera Database. Dataset ID: NSW_PostFire_LFPotoroo_Bentley_2021-2022_WildObsID_0015. While no live long-footed potoroos had been captured in New South Wales, on the basis of hair sampling and predator scat surveys, it was thought that the species occurred in low densities in the south east of NSW. All records occurred within South East Forest National Park, although potentially suitable habitat extended across an area of approximately 200 sq. km. In 2015-2016 an extensive survey using motion-detection cameras, informed by species distribution model, was undertaken, but no potoroos were detected.
