Brief description
Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model outputs from high-resolution (2-km) climate simulations over Sydney performed by Dr Daniel Argüeso from the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science (ARCCSS). The WRF model is a regional climate model used to simulate the climate over a limited region at high spatial resolution. It was used to simulate the climate of Sydney under present (1990-2009) and future climate conditions (2040-2059) using land cover information from the New South Wales (NSW) Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH). An additional future simulation was performed with future projected expansion of urban areas in Sydney. All three simulations were completed to study the combined impact of urban expansion and climate change on temperature, vapor pressure and heat stress at local scales. Version 1.0 of this dataset includes daily maximum and minimum values of simplified wet-bulb globe temperature (W), as well as the temperature and vapor pressure used to calculate such daily extremes of W.
