This data was collected as part of the longitudinal 'Life Patterns' study based at the Youth Research Centre, the University of Melbourne. In Wave 1, 1954 participants from New South Wales and Victoria, aged about 17 years, completed a survey. The questionnaire contained 28 questions covering plans for further study; feelings about school; job plans; issues affecting young people; thoughts about the future; and relationships with family and friends.
