Full description
The Water Police Office was established in George Street, North, Sydney in January 1849. In April 1856 a new Water Police Office was established near Circular Quay in the City of Sydney.
On 1 July 1918 the Court function of the the Water Police merged into the Central Police Office Petty Sessions District.
From 1 July, 1947 the Court was re-named Court of Petty Sessions, Phillip Street with Civil and Criminal Jurisdiction. (1)
In November 1971 the court at 4-6 Phillip Street, Sydney was located in the Eastern Metropolitan Petty Sessions District. (2)
