Wangaratta District Specialist School (WDSS) (School No. 5226) (VA 5312) is a multi-mode specialist school catering for students with mild to severe intellectual and associated disabilities from 5 to 18 years of age.

WDSS is located in the rural city of Wangaratta and services the Benalla, Myrtleford, Ovens and King Valleys, Rutherglen, Wahgunyah, and Wangaratta districts.

It appears the school was established in 1984 with the establishment of the school council. Further research is required to confirm if the school was operating prior to the establishment of the school council. 

An additional school campus in Benalla is due to be opened in late 2024.  The school was allocated funding for the planning and construction of the new campus from the 2020-21 Infrastructure Planning and Acceleration fund and the 2020-21 State Budget.
