This series comprises Outward Letter Books created by the New Australian Electric Company (VA 3968) from 1897 to 1901. The outward letter books contain a copy of all outward correspondence sent by the company.

The correspondence includes reports to the Electrical Inspector, applications for Orders-in-Council and negotiations for the sale of the company to the Electric Light and Traction Company (Melbourne Electric Supply Company).
