This series comprises working papers, reports and transcripts created by the State Development Committee during the period 1943 to 1982.

The Committee was constituted under the provisions of the State Development Act 1941 ( No 4875). The State Development Committee was appointed on the 9 August 1943, and held its first meeting on the 24 August 1943.

The Committee carried out investigations and reported to the Governor-in-Council on housing, land settlement, water conservation, reafforestation, hospitals, and post-war plans.

The series documents the activities of the Committee.
