VPRS 8832 Correspondence Files (Institutions) (Records Not Transferred)

Full description

This series comprises files containing inwards and copies of outwards correspondence created by the agencies concerned with the education and registration of nurses, namely the Nurses Board (VA 3144) and the Victorian Nursing Council (VA 1352).

Information that may be found within this series includes:

- the theoretical and clinical components of nurse training programs from various hospitals and institutions.

- lists of teaching staff and their qualifications.

- correspondence relating to the inspection of training schools and subsequent reports or recommendations.

- submissions from institutions for approval of training courses.

- lists of nursing staff and practising certificate number.

- annual returns from the various hospitals or institutions conducting a nurse training course.

- inwards and copies of outward correspondence between the council and other organisations.

Separate filing sequences were created to deal with policy matters and general correspondence. These have been registered as VPRS 8833 Policy Files and VPRS 8832 General Correspondence Files.
