Some submissions were also received in response to public hearings or issue of the final report.* Transcripts of public hearings which must be held as part of each inquiry. This series comprises the documentation collected or created by the Social Development Committee VA 3126 in the course of inquiries into matters concerned with community development including how the lives of individuals, families and communities might be improved and the role of the Government in promoting the welfare of the people of the State.

A range of documents was either created or collected by the Committee in the course of each inquiry. Although the range of documents created per inquiry will vary, the following broad categories of documents were generally created during all or most of them:-
