VPRS 8679 Administrative and General Files

Full description

This series comprises files created by the Public Bodies Review Committee (VA 3093). These files either relate to the Committee's administrative arrangements or pertain to its general relations with a host of community groups or organisations.

These files do not generally deal with the specific activity which the Committee undertook as part of its basic role in reviewing the existence of nominated public bodies. Those records were maintained separately as VPRS 8678 Inquiry Files. This was not a consistent practice as witnessed by a sequence of inquiry files created in the course of the review of a number of agricultural bodies which were incorporated in this series instead of VPRS 8678.

A general file detailing the Committee's relationship with each agency subject to review was also maintained in this series.
