Full description
This series comprises the minutes or record of proceedings of the Legislative Council. Originally called Council Notices, the series now appears to be referred to as Minutes. Each session of Parliament is recorded in a chronological arrangement with the dates of the days sittings clearly marked at the top of the page. The earlier volumes are hand-written but later volumes include typed papers - often a copy of the Orders of the Day - as well as typed excerpts from other services such as bills or motions glued into the volumes.
The detail includes the general items of business such as Ministerial addresses, tabling of petitions and reports and reading of messages from either the Governor or the Legislative Assembly.
Debates and deliberations on Bills, etc. are also recorded.
