This series records the admission of patients received for treatment under the Mental Treatment Act 1915. This Act was proclaimed to facilitate the treatment of mental disorders caused by wounds, shock and other injuries sustained during World War I and World War II. Patients were sent by the heads of various sections of the armed forces.

Details recorded include:

- sex
- marital status
- occupation
- soldier or sailor
- address of relatives
- causation
- physical condition
- discharged date
- whether cured, not improved, committed to Hospital of the Insane.
