VPRS 7164 Manuscript of Compiled List of Nuggets Found in Victoria

Full description

This is a rough manuscript version of the list of nuggets compiled and published in Mines Memoir No 12 - List of Nuggets Found in Victoria by E. J Dunn and published in 1912. PROV holds a facsimile published version of this in VPRS 19471/C1 Publications box 18  (creating agency Geological Survey of Victoria). It contains details on 1,327 gold nuggets weighing more than 20 ozs from circa 853-circa 1912. This manuscript listing is in relatively poor condition and there may be slight differences of detail to the published memoir

This series was originally titled Original Compiled List of Nuggets and was attributed to the Mines Department by service providers. An evaluation of the supplied documentation in 2025 amended  the series title, recording agency and series description.
