Condon, Dr Ray Whiting from the Dept. of Mines in the course of their duties. It appears this was a body that was originally formed as an intergovernmental forum between State and Federal Government Mines Ministers. The series comprises mostly duplicates of agenda items and minutes of the Australian Minerals Council and later the Australian Minerals and Energy Council. The series also includes printed literature, e.g. bulletins, pamphlets, booklets, etc; press/news releases; duplicates of reports/proposals and articles sent to the aforesaid members for their consideration and/or information.

The series was created by various members of the Council, including  i.e.  the Hon. J.C.M. Balfour, the Minister of Mines, Dr Spencer Jones, director of the Geological Survey of Victoria and E .J.
