This series records charges imposed by the McIvor Council upon the residents of the Township of Costerfield for the removal and disposal of their night-soil. Under the provisions of the Health Act, councils could make provision for collection and disposal of night-soil through the making of an annual charge. Night-soil was collected in and disposed of using night-soil pans as an alternative to septic tanks.

This register records details of every person who was levied this charge by the Council. Information recorded includes a number, the name of the individual, the number of pans in the residence, amounts due, paid or abandoned, arrears and remarks.
