The investments were made in Government Special Inscribed Stock. There are also newspaper clippings about the State Coal Mine Strike and disputes of 1940 which have been pasted into the book. This series was originally titled and documented by service providers. An evaluation of the supplied documentation in 2025 established that the series was incorrectly attributed to the State Coal Mine. Both the original series title (Annual Lists of Beneficiaries of the Victorian Coal Miners Relief Board) and the recording agency has been amended accordingly. Full description

This volume contains annual listings of Beneficiaries, Children (dependant) on Fund of deceased or permanently disabled employees of the State Coal Mine and Investment Account Statements. Each of these has been pasted into the volume.

The lists of beneficiaries show name and whether the dependant is a child or widow. Some lists include a statistical summary showing numbers of English and Italian Beneficiaries.

The "Children on Fund" lists shown name, whether the reason for their dependence was the fatality or permanent disability of their father, sex, date of birth and date of declaration, being the day before the child turned 14 and thus ceased to be a beneficiary of the Fund.
