Full description

This series consisted of a single volume which was documented the use of diamonds in drills used in drilling operations searching for gold and coal deposits. 

The register recorded the number an size of bit, date diamonds were sent to the drill, number and weight of diamonds sent to specific drills and the date, number and weight of diamonds returned to the department after use. The latter date was not always recorded. 

The series was appraised as being of temporary value and was destroyed during 2000.

This series was, at one stage, inaccurately titled as a register of diamond drills.
