Full description

This was originally an empty mining district register of mining companies that was adapted for use. The spine contains the labels ‘REGISTER INDEX Commonwealth-State GRANTS’ and ‘STATE CWTH GRANT INDEX’. It registers the first 439 applications received and considered under the Commonwealth-State Loan Scheme established under the Commonwealth Loan Appropriation (Unemployment Relief) Act 1934 and possibly the initial applications under the Commonwealth Gold Mining Encouragement Act 1940. Files related to these loans are found in VPRS 6813 and loan agreements in VPRS 7072.
