VPRS 5921 Miscellaneous Council Files and Records

Full description

This series brings together a variety of disparate records created by the Creswick Borough and Shire Councils. Contents include inwards and outwards correspondence, some tenders and contracts, bank account books and petitions to council.

All of the records in this series was gather by a collector named E. (Edwin) J Semmens whose collection of records from the Creswick area was deposited with the University of Melbourne Archives in 1976. In 1984, the University Archivist, Frank Strahan, identified those items which were in effect public records and transferred these to the Public Record Office.
