Full description

This series consists of registers of inward correspondence received by the Mining Survey of the Hepburn Mining Division of the Castlemaine Mining District. Ann annotation inside the front cover identifies the Surveyor as Mark Amos of Frystown. Most of the letters were sent by either the Secretary of Mines with the Secretary of Mines or the Chief Mining Surveyor at Melbourne.

For each of the items received, the entries record the number allocated to the item of correspondence. the name and locality of the sender, a precis of the letters the dates of item and its reply.
