For some entries there are small sketch plans and pasted in copies of obligatory Government Gazette notices.Other records are included in the first three units. In Unit one there are consecutive lists of new schools, of schools granted aid for repairs and for grants made since 3 Oct 1867. As well there are lists of schools and applications which the Board was unable to grant in 1867, a list of cases to which the Secretary's minute 17 Feb 1869 reply no funds; but will be considered when funds available applied and General Memoranda. Full description

This series contains the details of the giving of aid to local schools for new buildings, for additions and renovations and repairs to existing buildings, the nature of materials used in the buildings and the financing of the works. Applications for aid to new schools were initially registered in VPRS 897 Register of Applications for Aid to new Schools and Applications for New Schools. All further business was registered in these volumes. This series also contains records relating to schools already in existence.
