Full description

The Real Property Statute 1864 (27 Vict. No 213) was designed to establish the Torrens title system in Victoria with deed to property recorded and centrally registered. Under this Act and the appended Schedules the Supreme Court issued Commissions for perpetual commissioners for taking the acknowledgment of deeds.

This series consists of the Commissions issued under this Act. Records are of the Commission, giving the name of the appointee, the district for which it was applicable and any other terms of appointment.
