This series contains depositions (legal statements) sworn before the presiding Justice at the Buninyong Court. The depositions pertain mostly to criminal cases. Most were made by either witnesses or the accused.

Similar Deposition Books have been found in the records of other courts. A considerable amount of research is still required as to their original use and purpose.
