Legislation dissolving the Board came into effect on 1 April 1932, however it is not clear whether the Board was active throughout the entire period from 1919 to 1932. Records held by the PRO indicate that the Board was active from 1919 until at least 1928. It is likely that the Board continued to meet until at least 1928, and it is therefore also likely that minutes would have been created and maintained during that time. For each meeting of the Board, minutes of all proceedings were recorded together with the names of all members present. The minutes were signed by the Chairman of the Board once the minutes were confirmed at the following meeting. The minutes relate to the activities for which the Board was responsible.Note about date rangeThe only volume of minutes in PRO custody (as at October 2001) commences in 1919 and concludes with an incomplete record of the minutes for the meeting of 10 July 1923.
