Full description

This series contains the details of the filing of documents related to the administration of deceased estates and the payment of probate duty. Details given include the date of filing, the name of the estate and the proctor, the type of papers filed (probate, letters of administration, rules or administration bonds), the amount for which the estate was sworn and the amount of duty paid . Notation is made where no probate duty was payable. The later volume gives details of the imposition of probate duty as mandated under Section 8 and Section 24 of the Duties on the Estates of Deceased Persons Statute 1870.
