Full description

Under the Gold Buyers Act 1907 a register of judgments on applications was to be maintained by the Court of Petty Sessions. Information contained in the register included:

the date of the hearing;

the name, occupation and address of the applicant;

the particulars of the application including the nature (new or for a renewal of a licence), the district in which the licence was available and the situation of the tenement where the licence would be exercised;

details of the dates of publication of statutory notices;

the name, residence, occupation and municipality of ratepayers certifying the character of the applicant;

the police officer certifying the applicant, the justice ruling on the application, the decision and any remarks.
