Full description

This series comprises the student reports of Sherbrooke Community School (School No. 6252) (VA 5470). Student reports provide meaningful information for teachers, students and their legal guardians on students' achievement and progress against clearly defined standards; this includes what has been learned and how well, where improvement is needed, and what should be done next.

The student reports often include a variety of information, such as the student’s name, a description of the subject, and results presented either as a five-point scale (typically A to E) or a test percentage. They may also outline assessment tasks, work requirements, and attendance data, as well as details about work completed in class, at home, or during examinations. Additionally, the reports often feature comments from the teacher and are signed by the teacher and/or the principal.

From the 1980s, schools began transitioning to the Computerised Administrative System Environment in Schools (CASES) database, a centralised digital enrolment system maintained by the Education Department (VA 714) or its successors. Initially not widely used, the then Department of Education (VA 3098) introduced an updated CASES21, which became the mandatory system of record for financial information and reporting for all Victorian government schools from 2006. While CASES21 was also used for student and school administration processes, schools were permitted to utilise other third-party software to meet their needs in conjunction with the system. This system provided the means through which many schools generated student reports.
