This series comprises a volume recording visits to the Melbourne Benevolent Asylum (later known as Kingston Centre) (VA 1278).The first visit recorded in the volume occurred in 1908. Visitors to the Benevolent Asylum included persons occupying vice-regal positions such as the Governor-General of Australia or Governor of Victoria.
The last visits occurred on 24th June 1950. That date marked the laying of the foundation stone of the New Infirmary Wards at the Melbourne Home and Hospital for the Aged by the Governor of Victoria, Sir Reginald Alexander Dallas Brooks.
