The decade from 1984 to 1994 marked a significant shift in educational services for children with disabilities in Victoria, starting with the 1984 Ministerial Report and culminating in the 1993 Future Directions Statement, both of which spurred the development of formal integration policies following 143 recommendations from the 1984 Review based on a human rights model. This series is comprised of school policy and strategic planning documents from Kalianna School (School No. 4728) (VA 3950). These files are distinct from the general policies and operational guidance distributed to all government schools by the Department of Education III (VA 5283) or its predecessors. 

School policies are developed by the school council, which is responsible for reflecting the school’s values and support the school’s broad direction, as outlined in its strategic plan.
