This record series documents the monthly reports from the Pathology Department of Prince Henry's Hospital. The reports were prepared monthly and signed by the hospital's Pathologist. The title of "Pathologist" became the "Director of Pathology Services" from April 1968. In later years, that person was known as the "Chairman".

The reporting was principally statistical with a focus on tests undertaken. Other subjects reported on include staffing, accommodation, equipment, and undergraduate teaching. Most matters of concern were in the area of staffing. Staff movement meant there were often critical shortages in particular disciplines.
