Information on cards includes the name of the recipient, date certificate awarded and reason for the award. This series contains the only extant Honorary Life Governor Record Cards of the RMH. This series comprises index cards detailing the Honorary Life Governors of the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) (VA 1048).

Honorary Life Governors were persons who were recognised for their contributions to the hospital. Those recognised generally contributed to the hospital through voluntary service rather than with financial donations and benefactions. Long-serving auxiliary members were often made Honorary Life Governors. Honorary Life Governors were ineligible to vote at annual general meetings of the hospital, unlike the Life Governors who were eligible to vote.

Information on cards includes the name of the recipient, date certificate awarded and reason for the award.

This series contains the only extant Honorary Life Governor Record Cards of the RMH.

Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Archives.
