Full description

This series comprises indices to the House Committee minutes of the Royal Melbourne Hospital (VA 1048). The records in this series control the minutes in VPRS 19097 House Committee Minutes.

The House Committee was responsible for investigating standards and general conditions at the hospital. This included stores, wards, complaints, and works required. The House Committee also had the power to consider the dismissal of officers not appointed by the Committee of Management.

In 1972 the House Committee was dissolved, and its activities assumed by the Executive Committee (For minutes of the Executive Committee see VPRS 19098). This corresponds with the last index in this series.

All extant indices are in this series. The location of volume nos. 1, 2 and 4 is unknown.
